Ordinance On Video Poker Postoponed By Two Weeks
City attorney wanted to pass the ordinance to regulate gaming machines in Houston, but the city council decided to postpone the vote. As per the ordinance, businesses withe gaming machines specially those having video poker machines within 750 feet of a private school or residence, would not be allowed to operate.
The machines would also not be allowed within 500 feet of a library, church or bus stop. Businesses which operate the machines would also be required to pay a $500 annual licensing fee.
